Prof. Bakshi started his career at the prestigious Baring Union Christian College, Batala, Punjab and later joined Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Thereafter, he joined the elite CIEFL later established as a Central University by an Act of Parliament and named English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU). He was appointed the Director of CIEFL (EFLU), Lucknow Campus at a relatively young age of 42. He was also appointed the first Director of EFLU overseas Campus called EFLU, Yemen and Oman Campus in 2010. He retired as Director of EFLU, Lucknow Campus in 2014. Prof. Bakshi has also worked as visiting Professor at several universities abroad. His last appointment was as the first Professor of Linguistics at Northern Border University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prof. Bakshi was on the advisory committee of the State Institute of English, Allahabad, and Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh under the ELTI Support Scheme of Government of India. He was also the Coordinator for the Government of India Scheme of Purchase and Publication of Books in English
Prof. Bakshi has successfully supervised more than 35 MPhil and 10 PhD dissertations on various aspects of English. He has written several books on English published by prestigious publishers like Orient Longman/Orient Blackswan. Prof. Bakshi brings with him years of academic and administrative experience. His academic background in English Language Teaching (ELT) will certainly help in developing the right course and materials for the IELTS and TOEFL test preparation. Moreover, his administrative and overseas experience will support students in making the right choice of a university abroad.
Prof. (Dr) Shefali Bakshi had her early education in Bombay (now Mumbai) and graduated from the prestigious Sophia College, Bombay. She has BEd from Bombay University. She studied for MA in English from the prestigious Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) followed by PhD in English from Lucknow University. She was professor and Deputy Director in the Languages Department, Amity University Lucknow, where she taught Business Communication, English Literature, and English Communication to MBA, MJMC, and MA English students. Prof. Shefali Bakshi has also taught English at various universities abroad. Her last assignment was at Northern Border University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She has also taught Verbal Reasoning at IMS and Aptech. She has also been a visiting faculty at various Indian universities. She was an ELT consultant for organisations such as Orient Longman, Orient Blackswan, Pearson, and Macmillan. Prof. Shefali Bakshi has conducted more than 350 ELT workshops.
Prof. Shefali Bakshi was also the Coordinator of the ELT@I, Lucknow Chapter under British Council. She has co-authored a series of textbooks, English Junction, by Orient Longman, Spelling Power and Grammar Booster by Srijan Publishers, New Delhi. She also co-authored Talk About published by Saraswati Publishers.
